In Riga this week Ernests’ sisters are taking part in a junior tournament.
Youngest sister Monika Kavace negotiated a round, dropping only one game..before losing in the 2nd..(in 12 and Under event). Draw for Monika’s event here http://www.riga-open.lv/docs/calendar/gsmd12.pdf
14 year old Laura Gulbe has reached the 2nd round in her tournament..defeating 5th seeded Pole Paulina Czarnik and awaits her 2nd match against Moldovan Alina Soltanici.

Meet Monika, first pic on the left, she’s with Ernests and their Mum Milena..they are pictured after a successful Davis Cup tie last year when Latvia clinched promotion to Davis Cup Euro-Africa Zone Gp 1. The middle picture shows Laura with Ernests at a party in Madrid..in 2008. Laura looks very contented on the last pic.
